Beta Tester Invitation

I’m reaching out for a small group of scrollers — people who know this craft inside and out — because I’ve built something I think our community has needed for a long time, and I’d value your eye on it before it goes public.

RipSaw ScrollForge is a Windows desktop pattern design tool built specifically for scroll saw work. Not adapted from photo editing software. Not borrowed from CAD. Purpose-built for kerf, islands, bridges, blade entry, seam detection, and grain direction — the things we actually think about at the saw.

I’m not a programmer. I’m an intermediate scroller who ended up on disability and could no longer afford to keep cutting. Instead of walking away from the craft and the community I fell in love with, I found another way to contribute: I partnered with AI tools to build the software I wished existed.

Now it’s ready for real-world testing — and I’m looking for 5 scrollers to put it through its paces.

What RipSaw Does

  • Kerf-aware design — Your blade width is the foundation of every calculation
  • Automatic island detection — Finds every floater before you cut
  • Reference image tracing — Digital carbon paper method, adjustable opacity
  • Cutout & Line tools — Fretwork-enabled with node adjustments & curves
  • PDF export at actual size — Multi-page tiling with registration marks

You own every line. No auto-segmentation. No AI guessing at your design. RipSaw handles the physics — you handle the art.

What You Get

As a thank-you for your time and expertise, beta testers receive free lifetime access to RipSaw — including V2 when it launches.

This isn’t a marketing gimmick. I genuinely need your help, and I want to show my appreciation.

What I’m Asking For

  • Try RipSaw on a real project
  • Tell me what works, what’s confusing, what’s missing
  • Be honest — I’d rather fix problems now than after launch
  • Time commitment: Whatever you can give. Even one pattern’s worth of feedback is valuable.

Don't worry about getting the technical details perfect. Just tell us what happened in your own words.

You know what matters at the saw. You’ll catch things I can’t. And honestly — if scrollers like you find RipSaw useful, I’ll know it’s ready.

I’m keeping this beta small and focused. I want quality feedback from people who understand the craft deeply.
